Have you noticed how much more expensive your kid’s toys are than they used to be? How many games and toys do your kids have that do not have to be plugged in, downloaded, charged up, or battery operated? A few dollars will no longer buy a nice gift because electronics are not cheap.
If your pocket book does not match the wish list of your kids, try something different. Teach them how to be entertained with something else. There are many good quality cheap children’s books available. Kids can keep themselves busy for hours with very little money spent if they will just get interested in books. It’s better for them too. Reading does not cause stiff, painful wrists from working remote controls, poor social skills, or decreased spelling scores. It does, however, cause broader vocabularies, enhanced imaginations, better spelling, and greater general knowledge.
Do yourself, your budget, and your child’s education a favor and get them into books. You’ll be glad you did.
